"WHAT A WONDERFULLY PRODUCTIVE DAY"

Yesterday, a beautiful, sunny Saturday I decided to tag along with my husband as he donated some time at a local park doing some Spring clean-up on the ballfield. My job...take some photos. What beauty there as the birds sing and the flowers bloom!
Below: Checkered Lily FritillariaPeeking into the Robin's nest below were three brilliant blue eggs. What a perfect peice of artwork to nestle the eggs.
I met the little girl in the next shot. Her name was Anna. She was having to much fun in the flower garden with her Daddy!
The sparrow song, was loud and clear from atop the tree.
Perched in the pink cherry blossoms was an American Goldfinch.
Upon arriving home, I was so lucky to capture shots of a Flicker. This time of year, there can be many of these birds scattered through the yard. Their color and marking just amaze me. They're BEAUTIFUL!
What a WONDERFUL day I had!!

A lovely day indeed! Great pictures and story Aunt B. Those cherry blossoms are very beautiful. Unfortunately where I live it is too warm for them to grow or else I would have some in my garden.

Oh, I love Flickers and for some reason, hardly ever see many. What great photos, and what a great day indeed!

SAPHOTOGRAPHS...Such a misfortune that you can't enjoy the cherry blossoms in your area, however you make up for it with so many other amenities. Thanks for your comments!

JAYNE...Thanks, Jayne, the Flickers are so amazingly marked and to see them close is such a thrill for me.

What a wonderful day at the park this must have been! It looks like spring is in "full force" there with all the blooms and blossoms. It will be several weeks before we see those but I was lucky to spot my first pair of flickers too! I so enjoy seeing everything you share here! Thank you!

What a great post! I can just see you now.....walking around with your camera, taking in all of the beauty that Spring brings.

The pictures are absolutely beautiful. I especially love the flickers. I have never seen that species.....maybe it doesn't frequent our area. I'll have to check that one out.

Thanks for sharing with us!

Wow! What a fantastic day! If you ever want to go birding, I think you found a great place. It looks like a beautiful park. All of your pictures are fantastic, but I have to say, those are probably the best Flicker shots I've ever seen! The Goldfinch in the flowery branches is spectacular, too.

Very nice shots of the Flicker! They are super. I've notice that Flickers seem to spend an awful lot of time on the ground, more than any other woodpecker. Have you noticed this too?
