Update on the Hairy Woodpeckers...the babies are hatched and being fed by both parents. I sat close by snapping away as I heard them peeping away inside their 'tree house'. I will be watching for their heads to pop out.
I just can't get enough of the Goldfinches. Their brilliant yellow color is mesmerizing!

Still no change with the Bluebirds. Mr. is still here and eating his mealworms, but still no sign of activity in the nest.
The conditions were perfect in my front yard today and I thought I would try a few shots of my Maya. She loves her large stick. She wanted to bring it in the house but it was too wide to come through the door, hehe!

And, a couple of Mourning Doves were perfectly posed in the tree behind the house. Everything looks so incredible this time of year with the fresh new leaves on the trees.
Also, with the Chickadee, his surroundings are perfect to frame him!
I spotted this beautiful little White-Throated Sparrow, but he didn't want to come out from under the plants.
And, last but not least, the Indigo Bunting was spotted picking through the straw for grass seed. Funny, he wasn't nervous while I took many photos of him through the window.
Such beauty there is to behold in this world!
I've Got Jayne's Goldfinches

Jayne has been lamenting the lack of Goldfinches at her house this summer.
Well Jayne, I think they have decided to hang around our house. We have seen

JAYNE...Good morning Jayne! Thanks for stopping by and the blessing!! I wish you the same.
Aunt B: these are some unbelievable pictures. You certainly have some beautiful mountain birds that are so colorful.
FISHING GUY...Thanks FG, for your comments. They're color certainly does add some color in the mountainous area!
All beautiful! This time of year is so wonderful and beautiful!
Love the Hairy Woodpeckers. I'm sure you can't wait until they bring the fledglings to the feeders. Great bird photos (as usual). They make spring come to life.
I really must get a zoom lens!
As always, beautiful pictures!

NCMOUNTAINWOMAN...You're right, I just can't wait to see them, it will be exciting! Thanks for commenting.
TSANNIE...Thanks for the nice comment. I am looking at a new camera but can't decide on a zoom either. I am only using a 1.7 converter on a point and shoot.
THE BIRDLADY...Thanks Helen, so sweet of you to say. Every once in awhile, we have to include our pets!
ANGIE...Where are you located that you haven't had the finches. They seem pretty common. Thanks, Angie, for your nice comments.
Having a family of woodpeckers as subjects has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I've no mature trees in my yard so need to rely on finding a nest locally. Unfortunately I haven't managed to do so this year (so far!) so yours are my surrogate pair! Hope you get the shots as the youngsters leave the nest though in my experience you'll have to set your alarm early to catch them. Good luck!
All the shots are just beautiful! I think this is the first time I saw a photo of Maya...did you find her a smaller stick to take in the house?
I wish everyone would take the time to observe the beauty that surrounds them...the world would be a happier place.
Your goldfinch looks well fed! And the indigo bunting was just beautiful to behold!
Wow, such amazing photos and I love all the colors you captured!
Oh, wow! I LOVE all these photos! Thanks for sharing them with us. Beautiful birds and handsome dog.
Paz
Another great series Brenda...loved the Finches and Bluebirds! That Indigo Bunting is just gorgeous!!! Please send one down my way. haha
You are so right in saying there is a lot of beauty in this world. What a pity some people seems to go arond with blinkers on their sour faces.LOL!! A lovely post Aunt B.
A very beautiful world indeed. thanks for sharing!
Greast collection of photos in brillian colors! My problem is that I can't stop watching the beauty that surrounds me. Sometimes people think I have my head in the clouds.
What a wonderful array of birds and colors! Great visitors to your yard! These pictures are terrific!
Thanks for all of the wonderful comments, and Marsha, No, Maya did not get a smaller stick to carry into the house, hehe!!
How lush and green it all looks! A great backdrop for all the bird photos as well as a great habitat! The birds are lucky to have you!
What a great mixture in your blog today Aunt B, but I think my eye was mostly caught by the bee and wasp. The smaller things always seem to catch my eye. Baby birds can make quite a racket when demanding food. LOL!!
