Hello All!!
Bet you think I disappeared...but the truth is, I haven't had anything really exciting, that I could post.
Then, I got my latest issue of Birds and Blooms magazine. One of the articles 'Milk Jugs...New Uses, lists six things you can use empty milk jugs for. Well, I have a #7 reason for it's use. It's the cheapest toy for my dog, Maya, since she destroys almost every toy she gets. She get so excited when I give her an empty milk jug, running throughout the yard tossing it in the air and shaking her head from side to side, like it's an old rag doll.

However, it probably won't last that long!!

Oh how funny--just like a kid with a cardboard box!
Birds & Blooms is great!! ;)
Like Jen, I thought of kids and cardboard boxes too! How funny that the milk jug is such an extraordinary toy for Maya!
How cute! Our dogs used to think our 2PM feeding of ice cubes was the best TREAT they ever received ... funny how such simple things please them ... we can learn so much from them.
Have a great weekend. TTFN ~Marydon
Too funny. And the twenty dollar dog toy lies in the toy box! I loved the photographs and I'm going to see if our dogs like the milk jugs. Looks like pretty cheap entertainment and great fun.
Hi Brenda! Sorry I've been a stranger...lots going on around here. Maya looks way to cute with that milk carton in her mouth! Isn't it so true that the best toys are often the packaging they come in? LOL. Sedona is the same way. I hope you're doing well over there! We must e-mail each other soon.
XOXO,
Sam
Howdee,
I love that reuse of the milk bottle..
great toy!
Nice to finally catch up on your blog!
We have been traveling and have had no internet for a long while..but we are now in Oregon with internet..Yippeee
See u more!
Hi there nice to see you posting now and then, love the milk jug idea!! cheers.
Molly likes them too. I put a handful of stones in knot a piece of string put the end of the string in the bottle screw the cap back on and she drags it along at high speed. Must think it's chasing her.
Our dog Cody loves the plastic bottles from coke and such, and will play happily with them for hours if someone joins him in the yard. I loved seeing these pictures and knowing that it "must be a dog thing", that love of plastic jugs and bottles, no matter where the dog lives!! Good post, and really sweet pictures. thanks for sharing. warmly from Germany, Debby
Maya is so beautiful and full of joy as she plays with the milk jug.
One other use for milk jugs is to cut the top off and keep it in the bathroom, and when running water for the shower, fill the jug as you wait for the water to get warm.
Then I use the water for house plants and patio plants.
Oh, how funny! My dog loves pop and water bottles. He has a plethora of other toys, but tends to steal away my bottles when I'm not looking.
I remember making bird feeders out of milk jugs when I was a kid..Not nearly as much fun as Maya is having, obviously :)
