Not only has it been a beautiful Easter weekend but, again a beautiful day today. I'm trying to get some outdoor work done. And as you fellow-gardners know, it takes alot of time and work!
In November of 09, I was very excited to have a female Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker visit my backyard. Well, today I was just thrilled when a male visited the same tree. In all of the years I've lived here, I've never had one visit the yard.

What a great picture...the colors are so sharp. Isn't it nice

Oh, look at that sweet baby. I call them sweet even when they are banging on the metal gutters early in the morning on the weekend. My hubby calls then something different when that happens. Shh...
ReplyDeleteHe's simply gorgeous! You take such fabulous pictures. You're going to laugh, but I had a dream last night and you were in it, so I thought I would pop on over and see what you've been up to. LOL! I need to update my blog soon...it's been far too long since I posted. Have a good weekend! Hugs!

ReplyDeleteGreat capture. Here we have the Red-naped sapsuckers and they are a lot of fun to watch, drilling holes to collect sap and insects. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou hooo.where are you? On vacation? Great sap sucker photo!
ReplyDelete...you're so lucky! I've never had one in my backyard. My parents did, and I always loved looking at the holes he left behind in the big pin tree.
ReplyDeleteExcellent capture of this little guy!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, he is totally beautiful! I love your blog and hope to see more photos. This is great!
